Royal Ascot Day 5: Time to dine out on Caviar

The hype is almost over and the Aussie speed merchant will finally grace our shores today.

Black Caviar is unbeaten and is expected to demolish a strong field of sprinters in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

Although it’s a race to sit back and enjoy rather than a betting heat, there will be some excellent each way value because of the Aussie mare’s prohibitive odds. Last year’s winner Society Rock could be the one to chase her home.

Today’s other pointers are:

Chesham Stakes: Lovely Pass was impressive on her debut and can go close if she handles the ground.

Hardwicke Stakes: Aiken is unbeaten and progressive. He will love the soft ground and could be another winner for Buick and Gosden.

Wokingham: Waffle looks to be coming into form at the right time and will carry stable confidence.

Duke of Edinburgh: Ithoughtitwasover is a lovely horse and although he looks to have gone off the boil I’ll give him one more chance here.

Queen Alexandra: American Trilogy is a first Royal Ascot runner for Paul Nicholls. He will stay and handle the ground.

Star of Rohm (4.05 Ayr): Can finally get his head in front.

Shebebi (4.15pm Newmarket): The only one with any experience here and can make it count

Bispham Green (6.50 Haydock): Is better than he has shown so far.

Lady Loch (7.50 Hay): Got her head in front last time and can follow up.

Good luck!
