FAIR play to big race sponsors BetVictor who have opened a market on the Victor Chandler Chase on Saturday WITHOUT
the mighty Sprinter Sacre.
They have made SANCTUAIRE (pictured left) their 5/4 favourite without Nicky Henderson’s hotpot.
Bookies face a real challenge to stoke up betting interest with such a warm favourite in the field, so anything to generate some value for punters must be applauded.
Sprinter Sacre will face a maximum of eight rivals as nine horses stood their ground at the five-day entry stage.
BetVictor’s PR guru Charlie McCann said: “Sanctuaire was no match for Sprinter Sacre in the Tingle Creek but he is still our 5/4 favourite to win or finish second to the favourite on Saturday.
“Last year’s winner Somersby will have his first start for Mick Channon at the weekend and if in the same form as he was 12 months ago must have his supporters at 13/8 although he was subsequently beaten out of sight by the Paul Nicholls’ trained runner at Sandown when possibly not at his best.”
