THE first two of this site’s Ten Horses To Follow for the 2013 Flat season run tomorrow. KYLLACHY RISE makes his three-year-old reappearance for Sir Henry Cecil in the (4.05) at Newbury, while the unraced WOODLAND ARIA makes her racecourse debut in a modest 1m 1f maiden at Wolverhampton (8.15).
There was a lot to like about Kyllachy Rise’s only run as a juvenile at Goodwood when he came fourth to Steeler in a red-hot maiden that has produced several winners. He was actually entered in the Craven Stakes early last week but connections obviously felt that would have been too big of an ask. In a race full of unknown quantities he should go very well for the in-form trainer.
If John Gosden’s form is anything to go by then Woodland Aria will almost certainly need the race. The Newmarket trainer has not saddled a winner since late March. However it is interesting that William Buick is hotfooting it from Newbury to the Midlands track for the ride. It is his only ride of the evening meeting.
Woodland Aria is a daughter of Sinsgspiel and cost 70,000 guineas as a yearling and has been pleasing Gosden on the gallops. She is also entered in the Oaks.

Elsewhere tomorrow EDUCATE is fancied by connections in the Spring Cup at Newbury (2.20) while at Nottingham HEDY (5.30) and AETNA (7.00) are both strongly fancied.
And at Ayr I would love to see the tough-as-teak GODSMEJUDGE win the Scottish National. The trip and ground will suit although he has been on the go for a long time this season, and I worry this could be one race too many. Also at Ayr, BUDDY BOLERO should be hard to beat in the 5.00
