Juvenile notebook: June 10

A FASCINATING two-year-old race and one sure to spawn several winners is well worth a watching brief at Lingfield on Tuesday (6.25). The 12 runners are all unraced but a fair few have been impressing at home. The Queen’s Pack Together, who is by Paco Boy, has been doing things nicely at Richard Hannon’s yard and should start favourite.

She was regarded as a possible for the Queen Mary earlier in the spring and although that bird has flown she should make her presence felt. But SUPERLATIVE is the one of most interest. She cost £120,000 and is by Iffraaj and is a first foal to Slieve Mish who was useful in Ireland for Jim Bolger up to a mile. Her trainer James Tate is said to be very keen on her prospects and she is entered in the Group One Moyglare Stud Fillies Stakes in Ireland later in the summer.

Commandaria is also very interesting. Her dam Cassis won the Musidora at York in 2003 and she also won first time out as a two year old before coming second in the Cherry Hinton. Sulaalaat and Hannon’s other filly Lady Mascot are two others who should win races. A race to watch with a notebook in hand.
