HENRY Candy has done rather well with the progeny of the dam Verbal Intrigue. Codemaster was second in the Jersey Stakes to Strong Suit in 2011 and, more recently, Code of Honor has won three times and proved very useful. Tonight the last foal of Verbal Intrigue makes her racecourse debut at Windsor. VEILED INTRIGUE is also trained by Candy and is by the sire Pastoral Pursuits. Her trainer has described her as a very good mover although she isn’t the biggest. If she has inherited some of the ability of her two half brothers, she should show up well in what is a useful looking maiden at 6.30. She is certainly one to note in the market.
Veiled Intrigue isn’t the only well related juvenile making a racecourse bow: in the same race Abatis, who is a full sister to Critical Moment and a half sister to Rerouted, runs for the first time. Again, she is one to keep an eye on in the betting.
At Ripon, don’t discount POPPY BOND in the seller (2.45). Her only win came on softish ground and this is a step down in grade.
