TWO horses catch the eye today and both go to Redcar. Ann Duffield, left, is having to do without her top work rider, husband and ex-jockey George, who broke his leg in a gallops fall recently. But she has a nice horse in the three-year-old RUST who makes his seasonal reappearance today (4.40).
He showed distinct promise in three runs as a juvenile, notably on his debut when he travelled well and was edged out close home. This is his first foray in a handicap and his mark of 70 looks fair. Rust is also one of our 10 to follow. He is bound to benefit from the race today but should run well.
Also at Redcar, Mark Tompkins sends TOPAMICHI up from Newmarket. This chap ran very well first time out to be a close fifth at Yarmouth despite his rider losing an iron. He handles juice in the ground and could run well despite top weight.
