Dark Horses: Tioga Pass

paul coleKEMPTON’S frequent all-weather cards can be fairly informative when it comes to pinpointing future juvenile winners. One colt who caught the eye the other day was Paul Cole’s TIOGA PASS. He raced handily and stayed on at the one pace over a mile to be fifth to Psychometry. He wasn’t given a hard time and he heads to Bath on Monday for an ordinary looking 1m 2f maiden. The longer trip should suit and he should be very hard to beat. The National Hunt season is slowly but surely creeping up on us and at Newton Abbot on Monday Paul Nicholls gives a chasing debut to VALCO DE TOUZAINE.

He is only four so receives a handy weight allowance but should enjoy the soft ground. If he takes to the bigger obstacles he should win.
