GULLAND ROCK is well worth a second look at Wolverhampton today. This lad is a half brother to the very speedy Stepper Point (left), and although he hasn’t shown much in his two runs, he could well step up on those efforts today. Similarly, Stepper Point showed very little in his first two racecourse appearances as a juvenile but then came second in his third race. He has done nothing but improve since.
Gulland Rock was a bit unlucky in running at Pontefract last time when he was hampered a furlong out. He was also badly drawn that day and wasted energy getting across to the rail. Tom Dascombe’s Quantum Dot is highly thought of and could be hard to beat while there are others with decent bits of form. But Gulland Rock, who is as big as 33/1, may well be worth an each-way interest.
