Dark horses: Coming up roses

edTHE two-year-old maiden at Wolverhampton (3.15) looks a run-of-the-mill affair but there might be a nice horse lurking among the field. Ocean Storm sets the standard on form while Solidarity should step up considerably on his debut run for Godolphin. But Ed Vaughan may have a nice horse in the unraced CLAIM THE ROSES. This Speightstown colt cost
£120,000 at the Tattersalls December sales and is a half brother to the 2004 Middle Park runner-up and Mill Reef Stakes third Rebuttal, who was trained by Brian Meehan.

Claim The Roses may struggle against his two more experienced rivals today but he might be able to pinch a place at around the 16/1 mark before going on to better things.
