FRENZIFIED is on an upward curve. Luca Cumani’s filly has improved with every race and the penny really dropped over nine furlongs at Salisbury on May 23 in a Classified Stakes. She stayed on well to win but still looked in need of further, and she gets an extra furlong in a class 5 handicap at Nottingham today at 4.45. The form of her victory is working out well as the fourth and fifth have both won since. She has only been raised 2lb and that is more than fair although this is a stronger race. Elsewhere…

Landing Night is in sparkling form and could complete a hat-trick at Haydock (7.50) while I would not be surprised if the highly rated Loaves and Fishes reverses Goodwood form with Encore L’Amour at Newbury 3.25.

However the other main selection is a bit of a punt as I don’t normally go for unraced two-year-olds but the dogs have been barking about VISCOUNT BARFIELD who runs at Newbury in a hot maiden (2.20). He is highly regarded and might be worth an each-way tickle. The market, as ever, will be a crucial guide in a race like this.

PS Avenue Des Champs did the business at Beverley yesterday at an SP of 5/2 while Scrutiny drifted like a barge but ran a solid second at 9/1.
