Cue Card can retain Haldon Gold Cup crown

Cue Cardby JACK MILNER BetVictor were revealed as the new sponsors of the two-mile chase division two weeks ago. The deal sees the company proud sponsors of the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter, the Tingle Creek at Sandown and the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Starting with the BetVictor Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter on Tuesday, last year’s winner Cue Card looks set to return and this race last year proved the perfect springboard for the horse. He went on to win the Ascot Chase and Ryanair before chasing home Sprinter Sacre in the Melling at Aintree.

BetVictor make Colin Tizzard’s stable star 6/4 to successfully retain his Haldon Cup crown and should he put in his trademark brand of effortless jumping he will prove very difficult to beat.

His nearest rival looks set to be Evan Williams’ progressive William’s Wishes, who was the dark horse of the Champion Chase field before being ruled out through injury. He is 4/1, with Paul Nicholls’ Fago 5/1, Somersby 6/1 and Tom George’s interesting contender Module next in the betting at 7/1.

Exeter’s winner could go on and have a crack at the BetVictor Queen Mother Champion Chase where we are betting on the market “Without Sprinter Sacre”. Stablemate Simonsig heads affairs as the 7/4 favourite. BetVictor’s Non Runner-Free Bet offer is available on this and all races at the Cheltenham Festival.
