DECENT flat cards at Doncaster and Sandown today and Town Moor is the focus for today’s selections. NICK VEDDER (1.40 Doncaster) is a progressive type but this is a warm contest and a typically tricky 3YO handicap full of unexposed horses. These races are so difficult to analyse but Karl Burke’s runner will lack nothing in fitness. He beat an odds-on shot at Newcastle recently when he took a while to find his stride. But when he did he won decisively. The extra two furlongs should suit and the only concern is the fast ground on turf. He rates a bit of value at 11/1.
ART’S DESIRE (3.20 Doncaster) went into many a notebook when third on her racecourse debut at Wolverhampton. She missed the break but was noted travelling well at the rear before finishing off her race strongly. The form does look nothing out of the ordinary but visually at least it was a highly promising first effort. She has already been nibbled in the market for this stronger race but could be overpriced at 8/1.
RICH AND FAMOUS (3.55 Doncaster) made a solid comeback when second at Newmarket to the well handicapped Victory Angel. This is a quick turnaround and typical of Mark Johnston to run instead of keeping a fit horse in his box. A similar effort would put him right in the mix today and he could take some pegging back. Holmeswood is one to keep an eye on whatever happens today. 9/2
SEAMSTER (4.30) is a tough little sprinter who showed his wellbeing with an excellent second at Bath last time and he gets on well with his young claimer. 11/2
